Blog post by Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director at Cornerstone VR
I am thrilled to announce our rebrand and share our vision for the future of trauma-informed training. Cornerstone VR is committed to deepening understanding and empathy through the innovative use of virtual reality.
Our Journey
Cornerstone VR was born out of firsthand experiences in social care, driven by the need for more effective training tools.
Our clinically-led, technology-driven programme utilises VR headsets and 360° dynamic films to provide unique insights into the effects of attachment and trauma from a child’s perspective.
Our Impact
Our pioneering approach is already making a significant impact. Fostering and adoption organisations, education providers, local authorities across England, Scotland and Wales, NHS trusts, community services, police departments, and children’s services worldwide are using Cornerstone VR to transform their training processes.
By immersing users in realistic, engaging environments, we offer experiences that traditional training methods simply cannot match.
Why Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality enables us to create environments that are not just realistic but also deeply engaging.
Our scenarios follow the lives of children from pre-birth to adolescence, showcasing the impacts of trauma, abuse, neglect and societal issues including the digital world, serious youth violence and knife crime—experiences that are difficult to understand through conventional training alone.
VR grabs learners’ attention, fosters empathy, and encourages active participation, ensuring that the knowledge gained is retained and applied more effectively.
The Result
The results have been profound.
Professionals trained with Cornerstone VR are more engaged and empathetic, leading to better care for vulnerable children and young people.
By placing users at the heart of these experiences, we enhance understanding and retention of crucial knowledge, ultimately leading to improved outcomes across health, education and social care.
“The power of virtual reality is not just a technological advancement; it is a transformative tool that can bring about real change in the way we understand and care for those in need.”
